Body Positivity Yoga™ is for you if you...
...love the idea of learning new and different ways to practice and teach yoga poses
...aren't afraid to break from tradition and get truly creative
...LOVE modifications and want to know how to modify ALL THE THINGS
...enjoy practicing and/or teaching with props (and want to learn about secret props!)
...are tired of hearing people say "I could never do yoga because..." when, deep down, you know better
...want to serve the students in your class who seem to have trouble keeping up or participating fully
...are sometimes frustrated by the limitations of the poses you practice or teach
...are a yoga teacher with a 200 hour certification under your belt (or one under way)
...want to ensure your teaching is body positive and inclusive of all sizes
...are interested in learning more about how you can address the fears of larger bodied students
...want to be more sensitive to students with body image concerns (which, let's face it, is most of us!)
...want to ensure you aren't triggering to your students struggling with eating disorders
...want to learn how to better understand the experience of your larger bodied students
...want to empower your yoga students to create their own best experience on the mat in every class
Body Positivity Yoga™ might not be for you if you...
...aren't interested in teaching beginners or prefer to teach only advanced yoga students
...don't enjoy discussing body mechanics or applying anatomical knowledge to your teaching
...aren't interested in the specifics of teaching larger bodied students
...teach a style of yoga that focuses on very specific pose-forms and discourages variations/modifications
Lisa, The Fat Yogini, is a certified Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) and a certified YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider). Graduates of this training receive a certificate of completion qualified for 45 continuing education credits with Yoga Alliance.
